Is Avast slowing anyone’s access to Amazon or Facebook?
First, I’m an Avast user and not an Avast Team member.
Not knowing anything about your system, it is hard to comment, however.
I use Amazon quite a lot and don’t see any real slowdown. I have Win 10 and a relatively old laptop with limited resources, description in my system details below my post.
I don’t use Facebook, I haven’t got an account, so I can’t comment on that.
For me, it blocks “amazon.co.jp” when accessed with Microsoft Edge, whilst other browsers - such as DuckDuckGo., work just fine. DIsabling/Uninstalling “Avast One” resolves the issue.
Well removing one side of the equation resolves the problem, but it doesn’t confirm the source of the problem.
Given you have no problem with your other browsers, it would point to a conflict between Edge and Avast’s Web Shield/Guard. I have never used Edge so have zero personal experience of it.
On occasion add-ons within the browser can cause browsing related issues.
Try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps, if not try temporarily disabling add-ons. If this resolves it, have you recently added a new add-on, try try just disabling that.
I just visited the site using Firefox with Avast Antivirus Free (not Avast One) and that opened just fine.
