Slowed down computer.... Like hours...

I got a big problem… (or had)

It seems that Avast was slowing down my computer, could take upto on hour to populate the control panel, “program and features”

or Open the startmenu (using classic startmenu), or for that matter start Chrome…

So when I did my search for where the problem where, I recalled that I recently activated Avast free trial period… I thought that I uninstall Avast to see what will happen…
That procedure took aproximatly 6-8 hours (possibly take some hours - was at work when the procedure was done)…

When I was home again, I was a bit dissapointed as it seemed that the computer still was as slow as before… It was standing at the screen “rebooting/restarting computer” like forever…

Anyway I did a manual hard reset… And the computer started and everything was at lightning speed again, at least it is right now.

Is this a problem you have received before? And if so - are there any “fix” for it?

Running on a
Windows 8 x64
AMD Fx 4 Core something at 3.6+ GHz
8Gb Mem
Don’t now the MB for the moment but Asus something I think)

//For the moment running without AVirus things…

I would think that there was some form of corruption on you installation of Avast

I would recommend that a total uninstall and then reinstall would either confirm or deny that
