Smart Scan and logs?

I ran a “Smart Scan” and when it finished it said there was 1 virus. I clicked on “Resolve All” but nothing would happen, the button just would not work.

So I clicked the only other options which was skip. It then said there was 1 “outdated software” but virus indicator showed green. I am guessing there were no viruses and it was just outdated software.

I just want to be sure there were no viruses with the smart scan so where are the SmartScan logs so I can check to see if there is anything in there? thx

All log files are in the same place.

My question above was asking about the “smart scan” log. I did use Google to search for “smart scan C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log” prior to posting here otherwise I would not be posting. There are 30 log files in that directory and I am not sure that log even exists or whether it logged anything so I need the exact name to confirm behavior above.

bump

SmarScan combines many scans. There isn’t one log. If you run the scan and check the Log folder you’ll see updates to many logs.

Too bad “Smart Scan” itself does not identify the virus. Having to look through all these logs and figure out what was that “1 virus” found is ridiculous. That is if that message was even correct. Like I said the “Resolve All” button would not work and selecting skip then showed “1 outdated software”. Perhaps there was no “1 virus found” and it was really the “1 outdated software found” after selecting “skip”?

Next time, post a screenshot. It will make answering your question a lot simpler.

As far as I recall the Smart Scan updates the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report\Viruses & Malware.txt log file for virus/malware scan related results.

This folder also contains other Scan logs.
