Smart Scan Stuck at 6%

Hi. I’m running Avast on my Windows 10 Dell. Tried to run Smart Scan today, but it gets to 6% and just sticks there.
I have the same Avast on a laptop (Lenovo) also Windows 10 - and it seems to be working on that.
I noted some messages back in November 2015, and a comment that Avast know about the problem and are working on it.
Now May 2016, so any update?

Repair Avast:

  1. Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
  2. Click on ‘Repair’.
  3. Follow instructions.
  4. Reboot.

Followed this advice, even went so far as to delete Avast, reboot, reinstall reboot and still gets stuck at 6% (Completes Compatibility Check and gets stuck on Viruses at 6%. I left it over the weekend and still at 6%. Any ideas?

  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

Did you use aswclear when doing the clean install ?
At what folder/file does it hang ? (see the log file)
