So yeah, one day out of the blue, my PC started loading slow as hell, from 5-10 secs to load to over 10 mins, so I decided to analyze for virus (I had Avast installed and nothing else, just Avast).
Nothing popped, so I decided to do a boot analyze, after that, my PC never initiated Windows again.
I had to format both of my discs and I lost everything.
So, today, two weeks after reformatting, I decided to reinstall Avast aaaand for my surprise! Now my PC which after a clean restart took max 3 seconds to load, began taking 10 minutes or more again.
So, I analyzed it again, nothing was detected. I risked myself again with a boot analyze, nothing detected, PC took almost one hour to load after that.
So yeah, now I uninstalled Avast and everything is rainbows again~
(My PC meets all the specs to run the program just fine, it’s not my PC because I can play hard load games just fine)
In conclusion, one of the Avast updates was crap, because I had the program installed for over 2 years without a single issue before all this happened.
I’m looking forward to read what people from here says about this.
What operating system are you formatting with? Win XP Or 7 or 8???
Does your operating system cd come bundled with a antvirus??
If so then that will need to be removed before using avast!
Nope, I’ve been reading around the forums and I saw how you always blame other things instead of looking into your product
It was a clean install, just windows 7 64x and my nVidia card drivers.
Nothing else was installed.

he is not saying......he is asking, as this is a common error done
if you surf avast forum you will see how many times that exact error is done....forgetting to remove old antivirus before install. we see this almost every week
Well, there was no old antivirus, no old anything, it was a complete fresh install.
Also, before my PC got fucked up by Avast and forced me to format, I already had Avast and only Avast installed for a while. I’m sure an update triggered this.
Was you using the free version or paid version & did you update to this new version before you had problems?
Try and download an older version from www.oldapps.com and try an older version and just update virus definitions only.
Thats’ really bad that you have lost your photos!. Always either save important files or photos on a external hard drive via usb caddy or burn onto a cd disk.
too late as you have formatted your drives.
There is software out there that can recover lost files on a drive even if you have formatted a drive. Your photos may be not completly erased on the hard drive. The host drive needs to be connected on a usb cable to do this with the software on another computer to read it.
But if you have formatted the drive numerous times maybe unlikly to recover!
