If i deleted a virus with avast after it being in the chest for a while, is it really gone? Is it still infecting my pc?
Yes.
The whole point of the virus chest (a protected area) is to prevent access to it and prevent it from running. Whilst in the virus chest the file is encrypted and renamed and can’t be run from outside of the virus chest, so it can’t continue to infect your system. When you delete it from the virus chest, it isn’t released, or sent to your Recycle bin, it is deleted.
Don’t forget the reason it is in the virus chest in the first place, if it was detected by avast and if it were outside the virus chest then it would be detected again.
