This isn’t a huge deal, however, I thought I would see if there was an easy way to fix it.
I used the software updater to update Java, rather, tried to use it. The popup window showing Java’s progress disappeared. I restarted windows and then went to Java’s site to verify the version and it wasn’t. I checked on the software updater in avast and it says “preparing”, so I left it for about twenty minutes. Nothing happened, and Java wasn’t updating, so I updated Java outside of the software updater, but now the updater still shows the update is “preparing.” I rebooted again, and then I repaired the avast installation, rebooted and it still shows it as preparing. How do I get the software updater to recognize that Java IS updated? I also tried ‘ignore’ for Java and then un-ignored it, and still says “preparing.” I like the software updater feature so I don’t want to just click on ignore again. I was also wondering if it would still be trying to update it, thus using more resources?
I took a shot of what it says in software updater. Thank you, in advance, for any ideas/help!
