I was running Firefox 31+, Avast said Firefox 32 was available, but failed to update it; I went to Mozilla, downloaded and installed Firefox 32. Avast said Firefox 32 was available, but failed to update it. I went to Mozilla, downloaded and installed Firefox 37. Avast said Firefox 32 was available, but failed to update it. This is a broken record. What is going on, and how do I fix it, bar going to another product?
Reset the software updater database.
avast ui → Settings → Tools → Software Updater Customize → Reset database now
