[Solved] avast! IS 6.0.1203 keeps lagging...

Hi Guys,

Recently after updating to avast! Internet Security 6.0.1203, avast! starts to drag my PC performance down. Not when idle, but when executing programs. When I execute a program avast! real-time scan takes some time to scan the program, it doesn’t matter 1st time or 2nd time or forth, avast! scans files and takes same amount of time when I execute same file at numerous times. I doubt that something wrong with persistent cache, but don’t know exactly. Did removing using avast! uninstall tool and re-installing, then @ 1st time it feels like OK, but after some time it starts to happen same thing. Whenever I open a simple program such as MS Notepad or MS Paint, avast start scanning (System Tray Logo Keep Spinning) and I had to wait some time before program launch. If I turn off real-time, then its OK. I had never experience such a scenario with avast! before. All went smooth before avast! 6.0.1203. The Previous Beta version was Excellent for Me and it rocks…

I have addressed this issue previously, but I got no solution.

System Spec & S/W: Windows XP SP3 | Intel Pentium IV 2.0GHz | 1.0 GB RAM | avast! IS | MBAM (On-Demand) | CCleaner | Advanced SystemCare

Cheers…

Get rid of the Advanced SystemCare it a piece of crap and used Auslogics Disk Defrag or Puran Defrag

I agree with SpeedyPC about geting rid of ASC, plus have you changed the default settings of file system shield ? like the setting to scan all files on opening and writing.

Oh I couldn’t mention Auslogics Disk Defrag. I’m already using it for defragmentation. I’m using ASC lately for system optimization and worked for me.

BTW I didn’t change any setting unless disabling AutoSandbox feature on avast! mate.

In addition, I’m using uTorrent too. I hope it has no effect on this.

Possibly what it could be?

Thanx for responding guys

Cheers…

Apply patch ap2011-17-07-002: http://public.avast.com/~kurtin/patches/#ap20111707002

Asyn, That was PERFECT… PERFECT… & PERFECT…

Now I got no problem when launching applications… THAT was the BEST solution…

Really thanx for pointing me for patches… avast! BACK & ROCKiNG

Thank you mates, for all your time and responses…

Cheers…
