[Solved/Fixed]Antimalware Service Executable still runing on Win 11 Pro

Hi,
I just installed Avast Free 24.2 on Windows 11 Pro and noticed Antimalware Service Executable still runing.

On my Windows 10 machine this process is disabled if Avast is installed.

Is that normal or Windows Defender run together with Avast?

Thank you.

Good afternoon, I checked here on my computer, but the Antimalware Service Executable is not running together with Avast.
Because as soon as AVAST is installed this Microsoft Defender service is automatically disabled.
What you can do is restart the computer and see if this service will continue to be active or not.
Then come back here to share if everything is “OK” with you.

Hi, you are using Windows 10, but I am talking about Windows 11.

You probably have Windows Defender turned on for periodic scanning. If you go to Windows Security Center and go to the Virus and threat protection area, you should be able to see something like this

If yours is on and you don’t want it on, just turn it off.

Sorry friend, I’m actually testing on Windows 10. I haven’t checked if Windows 11 has this problem.
I believe someone who has Windows 11 will post if they are having the same problem as yours.

Sorry, the print isn’t showing up for me.

Fixed.

No I dont. It is caused by Window Security > App & Browser Control > Smart App Control Settings.

I disabled Smart App Control and Antimalware Service Executable disappeared.

Problem is fixed.

I suggest you leave help on Windows 11 problems to someone that’s using the operating system.
If you need to respond simply state that the user needs to wait till someone with that OS will reply.
Sometimes the best help is no help when you don’t know the answer.
