[SOLVED] JS:SaveByClick-B [Adw]

Hi everyone.

First time posting to this forum.
After installing avast! I have been getting the notification that JS:SaveByClick-B [Adw] has been blocked upon opening chrome. I have followed the stickied instructions and attached the logs.
I was having trouble with hijacked links before I installed avast! so I am guessing that this is it? Also, computer is running slower after these hijacks started.

Can someone help in removing this please? Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks

Could you run chrome in incognito mode and let me know if the alerts still appear

https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464?hl=en-GB

Opened chrome in incognito mode and confirmed that the alert still appeared

OK lets uninstall chrome for the moment, if this works we can re-install

Re-install Chrome

  1. If you have bookmarks, let’s save them by exporting them - Export Bookmarks
  2. Then I need you to go Google Sync and sign into your account
  3. Scroll down until you see the “Stop and Clear” button and click on the button. At the prompt click on “Ok”
  4. Now we need to uninstall chrome. Note: When asked about user data or settings you must remove this also so please check the box.

Now could you let me know if the alerts appear in other browsers

Uninstalled Chrome like requested - checked using firefox/internet explorer and no pop-up notification.

OK now reinstall chrome and let me know if they re-appear

That seemed to have fixed it!

Thank you so much for your help!
