Some Problem with the ''WIN32:Evo-Gen'' dectection and definition

Whenever I run some files, A random number of files keep being detected as ‘‘WIN32:Evo-Gen’’, While it should not be detected like this, Some apps I use all of the time keeps being in the detection range while really, this is a MAJOR false-positive going around a lot.

Can anyone help me, before this becomes a FATAL problem?

Too much files are detected as the same, and the executables are not infected on my end… so because it’s a big, big cluster of files, I cannot send it as it’s too big!

VirusTotal said it is not infected when I tried a couple of files, so it is a bogus detection still.

What applications are you having troubles with?

Various Apps used include a few NES and SNES ROM Development and Modification tools (I.E. a 6502 assembler called ASM6, disassembler from WLA-DX, etc.), a Fan-made ZZT/SuperZZT editor (ZAP), FuSoYa’s SNES/GameBoy Graphics decompressor (Lunar Compress, via Sniff.EXE) and more…

It’s more than you think! :o

I just tried to open MS Money 2002 and had the same issue (Evo-Gen) and never before tonight, so it must have come from some update today? Even got the same “detection” with scanning the original installation disc.

Actually the problems have been there since and it’s getting worse, There are a couple of threads saying the problem as early as 2009 or 2011 (I dunno) but they were about the same problems!

Put the files in a compressed file and do as Pondus said.

I submitted a few files for review straight from the chest via the “Virus Chest → Submit to Virus lab…” option.

Ok, now have patience.
The people from avast will look at them and fix things when/if needed.

PS:
I just received a vps update.
It can be (not saying it is) fix now.
