I have been getting a virus but cant find the files where it says its infected? I have used hijack this and it say many other software programs like ad aware, spy bot, online scanners and other but it can not fint this trojan? I used to be able to download programs and didnt have a problem with it or use some game disks but now I keep getting that same trojan and I dont know why. I have been told it might be a false postive but dont understand why I keep getting this trojan. I even removed avast and tried another virus protection like avg and I get totally differnt virus alerts but no files found on my pc? I have also had someone who works with computers look at my computer nad he is unsure what to do because he says I did what he would have done? How or what do I do? Also to one of my mail accounts I have been getting alot of spam, I do report the senders to spam and it includes a w32 netsky or something like that in the file but I havent downloaded it. I havent had any issues with trojans or whatever they are called untill recently. Can someone help and tell me how do I stop this and stop getting the w32 trojan-gen alerts when I donwload or insatll games?

what site(s) do you download games from ? are you SURE it’s clean/trustworthy…?!?

Please let me know the exact error message you received including the virus name and path.

You did not state whether you ran a scan using Adaware, Spybot or similar.

As for Spam, I can recommend some freeware programs you can use to limit the exposure to spam. I personally use K-9. Find it on www.snapfiles.com or www.nonags.com.

W32Trojan-gen is a general category of trojan. I need to know the full name of the virus.

I will assume that you found it by using Avast?
