Some users in org experiencing browser stalls until uninstall/reinstall of AVAST

I apologize now for the lack of technical details, but this really was a head scratcher. We have had multiple employees on our subscription complain for about the last 10 days that SOMETIMES websites would spin, not load, present terrible html, etc. Clearing caches, trying other browsers, ISPs or rebooting did not resolve the issue. It would recur randomly and sometimes hard to replicate on demand. It was happening to me too, so until other users started to complain, I was already exploring all the basic troubleshooting such as ISP, networking, browsers, applications, etc.
The only fix that has stuck so far is uninstalling AVAST, rebooting and reinstalling. So it feels related to a recent update that may have caused some wonkiness? Currently on 24.10.2822 (build 24.10.9535.886) Any known issues in this area or other similar complaints?
