Hi, is it possible to exclude specific file extensions in the avast! on-demand scanner. (such as mp3 and avi files)? thanks.
You can
Go to avast! settings (Simple Interface/dropdown menu button/Settings…)
Select Exclusions and click Add…
Now just enter entry like this (per line for one type of files):
*.EXT
Where the word “EXT” is replaced with extension that you’d like to exclude.
This doesn’t effect on-access scanning.
Are you sure? The help file says that “affects all parts of avast!” ???
No,On-Access is managed seperately,i’m sure.
This Exclusion list effects only On-Demand and Explorer Extension.
Exclusions for On-Access are managed under Standard Shield (Advanced tab)
Thanks RejZoR… You asked me a question that I was thinking about… Why can’t I scan a file downloaded (even when ashQuick.exe was properly added to the download manager)… The answer is that Explorer Extension has some extensions excluded from scanning. I suppose.
