This morning, I was pretty freaked out by Avast AntiTheft spontanously locking my phone.
What happened: I got a whatsapp from someone, and while turning on the phone suddenly the siren goes off.
Of course, I forgot the pin, but I got it reset in the end via myAvast.
Now I wondered, how did this happen? The phone was always next to me. I saw nothing in the command log that might seem to have caused it (appart from my own failed pin entry attempts) and some pictures and audio I presume avast takes automatically when locked.
Hence my question: how to find out what triggered the initial locking; am I being hacked or so?
If there is nothing in a log file and/or no notification it is not possible to say what caused it.
Exception is when avast was changing things on e.g. https://my.avast.com and made a mistake.
The alarm can be triggered also when e.g. the sim card was not properly making contact with the phone. (dust)
In that case it will look as if the sim card was removed.
Rare, but it does happen sometimes.
