About a week ago I noticed that I couldn’t change settings in Webroot Spy Sweeper. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled several times but the problem persists. I even tried installing in safe mode with no luck. I’ve tried everything except uninstalling Avast. 2 strange things if I boot into safe mode it seems to be OK. I made a Virtual PC of the Desktop with Go Virtual and it installs and runs OK there. I got some suggestions from Webroot and and applied explusions to Avast where I could find them
C:\Program Files\Webroot\WebrootSecurity\SpySweeperUI.exe
C:\Program Files\Webroot\WebrootSecurity\SpySweeper.exe
C:\Program Files\Webroot\WebrootSecurity\SSU.exe
C:\Program Files\Webroot\WebrootSecurity\WRConsumerService.exe
It’s annoying because it works on a virtual PC with no problems but not the actual.
I’ve got Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Avast 5.1.889 free 8gigs ram on a HPd5000t. Comodo firewall only newest build. Any chance it could be one of the MS updates from last week?

You would have to add the exclusions to the file system shield as well as the exclusions in settings and probably best to exclude the whole program file, if you dont have the BhS set to allow you will have to add exclusions there to but i cant guarantee that these programs will still be compatable, best to use malwarebytes, there is the free version or the pro for a $25 lifetime license.
