Spyblaster error message

I’ve been trying to reinstall Spyblaster. I tried to update it, but I couldn’t, so I uninstalled it. I’ve installed this program three or four times now, and when I try to run it, this error message pops up: “Spyblaster has caused an error in .” What’s “unknown?” I’m frustrated because it doesn’t want to run. Thanks, Megaman

 One does NOT “run” SpywareBlaster AND they only
occasionally have updates, like antiSPYWARE programs.
There is an excellent tutorial on this program at :
www.bleepingcomputer.com ; when on that website,
click “Tutorials” and look for the “Spywareblaster” one.
If you have additional questions about that program,
there is a “Javacool” forum on the forums at :
www.wilderssecurity.com .

Spiritsongs, maybe I’m using the wrong word, but 1 1/2 years ago, I used or ran Spyblaster on my friends computer to correct or find spyware things.

A tech person advised to download it and use or run it. But a couple of weeks ago, I tried to update it and there was a small “error” message, and I couldn’t even use it. So I ended up uninstalling it.

Then I downloaded Spyblaster again, but the same error would pop up and then a new one popped up, the one about the “unknown.”

So how do I install Spyblaster without getting the “unknown” message so I can use the program again as I did 1 1/2 years ago? Or is it unnecessary to have Spyblaster? Thanks, Megaman

 Most often on the antiSPYWARE forums I frequent,
Spywareblaster is “shortened” to SpyBlaster, so I assumed
it was the program available from the highly credible
javacoolsoftware site you were speaking. One of the most
reliable sites to obtain good info is :
www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm .
The author of this site is the highly regarded Eric Howes
and I just visited this site and found a small “note” that
he was NOT reviewing a program called “SpyBlaster”;
however, a good policy is to install ONLY programs listed
in his “Trustworthy Anti-Spyware Products” section, which
does NOT include Spyblaster. Therefore, I recommend
you completely remove this product from your machine .
NOTE : if you do install SpywareBlaster from the
javacoolsoftware site, you should realize that, on
occasion, Spybot updates will “disable” some “items” in
the SpywareBlaster program, requiring to check that
program and “reenable” any items that the Spybot
update “disabled”. For that reason, I do NOT have
Spybot on my machine; Ad-Aware is sufficent.

Thanks for the info. I already removed SpyBlaster from my friend’s computer. But she still has Spybot-Search & Destroy program. I was advised that this is a good program, but you mentioned you do not have this one on your computer.

Since my friend’s computer doesn’t have SpyBlaster, I would think Spybot wouldn’t “disable” any “items.” So is it okay to keep Spybot on her computer? Megaman

 From what I recall hearing on the Spybot forums only
SpywareBlaster & SpywareGuard, both javacoolsoftware
programs, have “problems” with Spybot . Since I cannot
“read” Spybot’s logs very well, I prefer to have the 2
javacoolsoftware programs & Ad-Aware on my machine.

That error message is from Windows. It means that Windows isn’t happy with something in the program.
