I am new here and not know much but I just want to ask you who knows

can avast remove spywares?

Well avast! is an antivirus program, but it can detect and remove some spywares/adwares too ;D ;D ;D
In my opinion you must use other spyware/adware program which is specialized in detecting spyware/adware, like Ad-Aware, Spybot… :wink:

avast can and does detect some spyware and adware but it is primarily an anti-virus program.

There are a number of freeware programs the specialise in anti-adware/spyware detection such as.

If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it.

  2. Spybot Search and Destroy
  3. Spywareblaster Don’t install this until you are clean.

But most of companies that develops antiviruses has begun also with developing of anti-spyware tools and programs. Will avast have also some module that will remove spyware? I know that webshield is one of them, but it protects just browsers…

I mean that some companies need also to protect youself from spyware by some easy way.

The two areas are I believe really specialist areas and I personally would rather have the choice of the best tool for the job rather than have a program suite that may be a jack of all trades but a master of none.

Web Shield is not a module to remove spyware, it is simply a module that scan web content (using the same AV signatures, etc.) to hopefully detect it before it gets downloaded and established on your HDD. Much easier to stop it than detect it after it arrives then delete/action it.
