Just tested the domain servers on the ssl test. For what it is worth, folks (fastest was 62 (for a720sl.avast dot com ) to slowest over 200 secs ( for a543he.avast dot com)

What is the point of this test, when most traffic is likely to be HTTP, for me I don’t see any point at all.

Hi DavidR,

As with all test. I wrote “for what it’s worth”. Just wanted the users here to know the test/service is available as they may feel like using it for real SSL test sites.
Together with RECX Security Analyzer Extension…

In all honesty, I find this whole concept a waste of time, knowing this information isn’t going to change your ability or speed of connection to said SSL site. If it is a cr4p rate what can a user do about that.

Well there is no much to bring in against this. But we had threads and threads about servers being slow and when we get data from some sort of angle, there is not much to be dome about that,

As my first reply and your response there is little this SSL check can do for us in that regard as the forums, etc. aren’t SSL/HTTPS.

Hi DavidR,

Allow me this off-topic comment, but the avast forum server for me at this very moment is responding “slow as molasses” and that is only mildly put,

That may well be the case, but that SSL check can’t really be used in this case. I also get nada information using that tool for forum.avast.com.

Currently the forums are fine for me.

All I know is that every time someone posts on this forum and uses the https instead of http, it screws up the display.
It’s now been going on for quite a while. :frowning:
