ssl mail

so avast now can scan mail even its ssl protected. i put ssl back to thunderbird like avast recommended. is this also true with gmail? can i now delete those mail shield ssl options for gmail, when gmail is using ssl connection?

Hi: Not sure if this will help.
I have my gmail account port set on 993 with Connection security set: SSL/TSL and “Authentication” set at Normal Password> all works great.

how can you do that with gmail?

yes you can remove those options for gmail in the GUI…just make sure you have set it back to SSL in your email client.

If you are referring to my reply> Go to your Gmail account settings in TB/ then ‘Server Settings’ (First catagory) and you should see: Server Name/ Port/ Username and so on.

gmail is googlemail.

You talked about TB in your initial post ???
That’s what I thought you were asking about.

So what email do you use in TB.
