SSL Scanning/Checking in Avast Free?

Hi,

Two Lenovos laptop running the latest versions of Windows 8.1 and Chrome, I’m getting a SSL Protocol Error with one account on one laptop. :frowning:

One suggestion Google have come up with is to ensure I don’t have “SSL Scanning/Checking” enabled; trouble is, I can’t find “SSL Scanning/Checking” in my Avast Free; am I being dumb? ::slight_smile:

Regards,

Go to “Settings” > “Active Protection” > “Mail Shield” Settings (gear icon for Mail Shield) > “SSL Scanning” is where the value is checked or unchecked.

Hi,

Thanks.

Regards,

Hi, could you please specify your SSL error code ?

Btw, in the event you’re also using the latest version (2015) of Avast then there would be no “gear icon” in the Avast Shields to get to their additional settings due to a change in the latest version.

Instead it is blue text ‘Customize.’, thanks to DavidR who noticed this in another thread and was kind enough to provide me with this information. (see attached)

I use 2014, so was not aware.
