Started Getting amdkmpfd.sys Error After Avast Updated 8 Drivers

I have had Avast for a few years & this is the 1st time Avast updated my drivers. It updated 8 drivers. Then I started getting this Error: Stop Code: DRIVER IRQL NOT EQUAL OR LESS THAN ZERO. What Failed: amdkmpfd.sys

I used SFC /SCANNOW, that didn’t resolve it. I went in Device Drivers & reinstalled the Driver for the AMD display driver & that didn’t fix it. I have never had a BSOD on this computer, before this.

What else can I do to resolve this?

Ok, I did some research & discovered AMD has a utility that uninstalls & reinstalls the driver. I went thru the process & restarted the laptop. So far, it hasn’t given me that error. I will give an update this, as I see for sure the problem is fixed.

After several checks, this appears to have solved the problem. I got the AMD utility from the AMD website.
