Statistics > Component Status > Reset

Any way to reset these numbers back to zero?

Not that I’ve found.

Accept Uninstall and Reinstall

No, this question was asked some time ago and it hasn’t changed, no reset option.

Personally I feel that the Statistics section is pretty much worthless. Of the limited data on it, it has no detailed information to make it worth while. Not to mention many of the massive blocks are empty (Grey) unless you have a paid version. SafeZone, AntiSpam, SecureLine. I didn’t install the Browser Cleanup, so 4/9ths of my Component Status are Greyed out, waste of time…

I agree also with DavidR and have stated the same when the “Statistic Module” was first introduced.
No detail and my impression is that it seems like something started and not finished>

My dream is for Avast to replace the useless statistics page with something like competition has - see picture.
Each row is clickable for details. No need to navigate through various logs.
Note the several important events about updates, real time, scans, engine state, etc. Now, that’s useful.
And no, this computer (friend’s) wasn’t all that infected - just the eicars, keyfinders, leak tests and so on.

I always love a challenge so I went and found how to do this.

You just have to delete the log.db file.

This file is located in the Avast or Alwil Software folder of the ProgramData or Application Data folder depending on what version of Windows you are running.

You have to temporarily disable self defense in Avast and end task on all avast entries in task manager then you can delete the file.

The Avast service will restart on its own so you may need to delete the file quickly after ending task in task manager.

edit: Fixed name

The name is avast … not advast
