Still Getting "Avast Needs to Reboot"?

Is anyone else still getting the Avast needs to reboot? Both PCs, several times now.
I thought the last update fixed the redundant reboot request?

Have you tried avast repair and reboot ? https://support.avast.com/en-ww/article/Repair-Antivirus

Hi

I got the same message as you today and for a couple of days ago. It´s very irritating espacially when there is no explanation why this happens. Or has the Avast team made any comments about it in the forum ?

If Repair doesn’t fix the problem, try the following:
If your Avast settings are not the default settings and you want them restored after the Clean Install, follow this before removing Avast.

Clean Install of Avast:

Did you actually restart your system as suggested ?
Before you do make a note of your version number (build number) and your UI version. Then check after the reboot and see if they have changed.

See https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=229461.msg1521014#msg1521014 and you will see there appears to have been a micro/UI update that would need a reboot to take effect.

It is irritating and should have been fixed by Avast last update. I am now hitting IGNORE.

That might make you feel better but doesn’t solve the problem or, update the program.

Avast has been notified and is looking into the problem.
Logs would probably be helpful.

I’m still getting it. Twice last last week and today.

I’ve been asked to reboot 3 times in the last 8 days. I’m very skeptical micro updates are the cause.

I’ll submit logs.

I get it once a while. What I’ve noticed is that every time I reboot, the UI version is different. So, guessing it’s an update each time to that UI.
If you want to see if this is the case for you as well, make a note of your UI version (Menu, then About) and then at the next reboot request, after you’ve restarted your computer, see if that UI number has changed.

Your suggestion was already made. No sense posting the same information twice.

Before offering help, it’s always a good idea,
to read the thread.

Hi, I’m sorry for this issue. Could you (anyone affected by that) collect logs for us? We need these: c:\Users\All Users\AVAST Software\Persistent Data\Avast\Logs\ +
c:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log\ → copy them somewhere, pack them (zip) and send them please to lukas.munduch@avast.com

Thank you very much
Petr

I’m trying to get the logs but don’t have ‘c:\Users\All Users\AVAST Software\Persistent Data\Avast\Logs\ +’ on my computer.

Never mind I found it.
