Kind avast! Support Team,
after installing the security update KB840987 (MS04-032)
from Microsoft I had the above kernel error: with this
patch it seems that the Microsoft Support Team heavly
changed the kernel software, so maybe there is the
need of a new build of avast! from you. ???
Please as soon as you can check this issue.
Thanks In Advance.
Nicholas Eoctopulos.
P.S.: This is the complete text of the kernel error on
Windows 2000 SP4 I have after having a full
scan with avast!:
*** Stop 0x0000000A (0xEC477574, 0x00000002,
0x00000001, 0x0804396A5)
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

@Eddy
No driver or harware failure of any kind on my system at the
moment, more avast! worked perfectly until I applied the
above security patch from Microsoft… ???
As far as I can read from the Microsoft’s support center
there was a too high level (IRQL 2) request of writing
to the paging memory file by the kernel mode (Ntoskrnl.exe),
their solution is: wait for the new release of the software
product that originated the hang… :
neo96900, I suppose, right now, you’re using another computer than the one with that IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL problem…
Or, on contrary, everything is solved now?
Sorry but the uploaded file seems to be corrupted. Please send it to my email address instead (it’s possible that it got screwed while uploading it like .log – it might’ve been interpreted as text file by the forum software).
@bob3160
It was a nice try Bob, but it didn’t sort the problem…
Thank You The Same.
@Technical
You’ re supposing wrong: the computer is the same
and all is perfectly working at the moment but avast!..
No, the problem is still there: if I try to do a complete virus
scan with avast! I’m obtaining the above kernel error,
this after installing the security patch as described before,
all the rest is perfectly working… ???
@Vlk
It’s very strange, because I’ve tried to download the file
after uploading it and it was correct, that is the same I’ve
uploaded before… ???
