Some of my emails are ending up as SPAM when they are not, and being put into the Avast Spam folder. How can I tell Avast that certain emails are not spam?
You can add the email addresses to the white list or reduce the Heuristic sensitivity.
Even the Avast Forum topic notification ended up in the spam folder. Too many things are going there that shouldn’t.
Thanks for your help and suggestion. I may just be missing it, but I can’t see the Avast Help topics that you posted an image of. There is no “help” button on my Avast control panel.
Secondly, I’m not sure what “the main page” is - “On the main page, it is possible to set the scan sensitivity as Low, Medium or High.” My main page of Avast 7 shows
Summary
Scan computer
Real-time shields
Firewall
Additional Protection
Maintenance
Market
Thanks and apologies if I’m just not looking closely enough.
There is no "help" button on my Avast control panel.in top right corner....now called support

Thanks, I’m getting there - slowly. I found “help” under “support” as you said, then under Real-Time Sheilds I found Mail Shield, Expert Settings, Sensitivity. It was set to “normal” so I have reduced it to “Low”.
Let’s see if this helps and thank you all.
The Mail Shield isn’t the same as the Anti_Spam function, you need to open up the Anti-Spam and either add the address of the avast forum notification emails or reduce the sensitivity in the Anti-Spam.

Thank you so much. As much as I think the colour scheme of the Avast Panel is, I think it’s very easy to actually miss things. Those little bars that say low, medium and high just look like a graphic - I didn’t realise until now that that is where you can actually click to change. I do appreciate your patience, everyone and thank you. I have now changed it to “low”.
You’re welcome.
