"storage cannot be created for splash task" error message

I recently installed avast home edition after removing my defective norton. After registering online I tried to launch the programe. After I entered my key, I recieved the above message… : storage cannot be created for splash task."

Anyone know what’s going on or how to help me? I am feeling pretty exposed now online with no virus protection… etc

Did you use the uninstall util for NAV?
If not:

  • remove Avast
  • use the uninstall util to completely remove NAV
  • reboot
  • install Avast
  • reboot

If this doesn’t solve the problem:

  • Change ODBC to XML in avast4.ini
