story about Win32:Evogen [Susp] and deleted icons from desktop

Hello.
Sooo once again some dvdsoftvideo tool tries to update (secretly) and avast blocks it (hell yea who needs updates anyway?) but 2nd time avast turn all alarms on ! like a boss.
I guess due dvdsoft.lnk on desctop avast decided delete all .lnk-s too…
all of them (99% of desktop icons)
2nd time (im bit mad but just a bit)

So i lost hope restoring files, but at least tell me how to prevent shortcuts deleted in the future?
(NOT USING DESKTOP IS NOT AN OPTION)

  1. Attitude not needed. It’s quite possible it’s a FP.
  2. Disable your shields (All of them.) > Find the Chest > Right Click > Restore.

Update it.

Now, find thsat main .EXe file that is launched, and scan it at www.virustotal.com

Nope chest is empty

That’s impossible without wiping the chest manually…

Redownload the software then. Except this time; scan the downloaded file @ www.virustotal.com. IF it comes back as clean, then disable your Shields. Install/Update, then send it to virus@avast.com.

Subject False Positive and give them a download link.

Im not sure, but i think this time i added it to exception list and virus chest has only last time entry (04.10) (well .lnk missing w/e i do)

Oh and downloaded file is downloader

Detection ratio: 1 / 56
DrWeb Adware.Toolbar.572

all others OK
