I have been using Avast for years, but I have never run across an error like this before. As of yesterday, I started getting an error at the end of each screen saver scan or normal scan.
The log contains an entry of: “some files could not be scanned”. The View results button displays a file name entry of:
Disk \?\Volume{685d6303-739b-11df-a542-806e6f6e6963?}{+}{+} Boot Record
and a status entry of:
Error: The parameter is incorrect (87)
This is a Windows 7 64 bit system. It created 2 partitions on my 1 TB C: drive when installed - the first is the small 100MB system partition with no drive letter or label that Win7 uses for booting up in some way - the second partition contains the rest of the drive and contains Windows 7 installation and user data. There are also 2, 500GB drives that contain media files such as music, videos and photos. It’s an MSI XPower MB (X58) with an I7-950 and 6GB of RAM, an 1100W Silverstone PS, 2 LG DVD/Blu-ray writers, etc.
I am getting no other related errors from the system and nothing appears to be wrong with the computer. Does anyone have an idea what this may be caused by? Let me know if I can supply any other info. - D
