Strange shield alert!

When I tried to do an online drweb url check scan for this url: -http://zirycatum.com/k985ytv.htm
It was blocked but with a strange twitter like shield alert pop up, see attached.
What happened here. How to get the normal shield back?

Check the forums as there are other instances where blank areas of the avastUI appear and by all accounts it might be missing fonts.

As for the Twitter icon, uncheck the avastUI, Settings, Community, Features, Show avast! recommended features and Show social networking features. That will remove the twitter and facebook Like cr*p from the avast interface.

How you get the text back, not sure - Try a repair of avast, you may need to reboot after the repair.

I think it is meant to be the new alert pop-up, but no text. Try an eicar test and see.

EDIT: Nah, is isn’t a new alert still Red for alerts.

Hi DavidR,

On the eicar test the avast Web Shield has a normal outlook, see added gif.
What I did is that I disabled the shields up and util the next reboot, and then restarted the computer and now with this result. Hope all is fine now, at least this webshield alert is what I am accustomed to,

Hi DavidR and essexboy,

Just opened up on a website that avast shield is known to be blocking,
-http://sitrojo.cu.cc/jzeqcwgo.php (malicious) and everything seems OK,
so the close down and open upon reboot method worked beautifully,

I tried to replicate your original DrWeb scan of that link and don’t get any avast interaction and can’t get anything as the page doesn’t exist.

Hi DavidR,

I.m.o. DrWeb scan thinks the page does not exist because avast blocks it,

pol

Well I didn’t get any blocking by avast, no alerts.

The mystery is the colour as Blue as far as I’m aware was for Information pop-ups, but there is also a shade of blue in the self-defence module also.
