By the way, call me an idiot, but…shouldn’t the script blocking function be reserved only for PRO version??? Avast updated today, and after the update, there is the script blocking function (as well as the enchanced interface) enabled!!! But when i look at /about avast/ there still clearly says it’s the HOME version. Now i know many ppl would tell me i’m an idiot for reporting such fact, but i still feel it’s fair to notify you guys about it. : There’s no problem really, i’m ready to reistall avast! and ‘make it home version’ again, since i really do not have a need for those additional functions (i have antispyware program which already blocks malicious scripts). So i’ll do what i think is fair on my side, and this was just to notify you about some potential installation/registration-based flaw.
Cheers!
So enjoy the new unreleased version of avast! Home ;D Joking. Something strange… never heard something similar before… ???
Maybe you can inform them by email because the key could be ‘messed’ with the Pro ones or the robot generate a bad one, or the site update is interpreting bad the keys… Probably, when corrected and updated, avast will be downgraded to Home version without problem :
Can you post a screenshot of the avast about box, with the License key section visible?
Thanks
Vlk
Here you go.
Funny hehe. Home edition that has Script Blocking
Please send to my email the following files from “avast4\setup” folder:
setup.ini
setup.log
Too late,sorry- i reinstalled avast! to see whether the same thing will happen again, and it didn’t, so now it’s a normal home edition again. Anyway, you have to admit it was an unusual thing to happen :o If it repeats that stuff again,i’ll let you know.
Cheers!
