My system hasn’t picked up any streaming updates since 8:47 on 16/1/16 (currently slightly over 24 hours). The package reports that it has established a connection.
Is this just a problem with my system (in which case I’ll try repair etc.), or a server taking the weekend off, or something else?
I was wondering about the latter as I picked up VPS 161116-7 on boot this morning; I don’t think that I have ever seen 7 updates in a day.
Avast Free version .1.2245 running on Win 7 x64
Hello Michael529. This sort of questions has been asked couple of times and many many times. Avast updates it’s vps on a regular basis but sometimes it doesn’t update it’s VPS but only it’s streaming updates every few minutes. Also updates differs from where avast users are at (different time zones). As for me in New Zealand my VPS update is 160116-7 and my last streaming update is today (17/01/2016) @ 11:52:48am. Your one is the latest from me 161116-7.
Yes some times in rare occasions it’s server has a few problems and normally it gets fixed as soon as possible. 7 updates in a day also occurs it just depends upon how many malware signatures does avast detects. There’s no need for you to do a repair.
I hadn’t had streaming updates for a day since 0847 (UK) on the 16th but they’ve started coming through again now. In all likelihood it was a problem at Avast’s end that’s now been resolved.
Yes my system (also in the UK) has just picked up 2 streaming updates. Whatever was wrong now seems right.
Thanks to both of you for the comments.
