Recently I have noticed stuttering and lagging on all my browsers [Edge & Firefox] when playing video from the web: manifests as video stops every 5 seconds then resumes after half a second. For instance, on a youTube video, or on HBO, or on Now TV.
I have incontrovertably isolated this to Avast: there are 4 or 5 instances always open: if I disable shields the problem goes away instantly: if I re-enable the shields, the video continues to work perfectly, until probably the next such video that I load, when the problem recurs.
This is clearly unacceptable when watching sport or gaming videos when the action is fast & furious.
Anyone any thoughts, please?
