i got asr_83283.exe virus alert and it automatically moved to chest. i tried to google about asr_83283.exe but i did not found any info about it so i submitted this alert to virus lab with potential malware. i already done full scan before 1 hour ago but i did not any alert about virus but now i got virus alert from file system sheild when i was browsing on internet.
“Potential malware” means avast! doesn’t detect it, but you think it should.
If you already got it detected by avast!.. there’s no point in submitting it, I’m afraid.
It is a rather moot point to upload to virustotal as a) you found zero google hits on the search, always suspect (depending on location) and b) avast is already alerting on it.
For the future to upload a sample to VT:
To check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C: drive. Now exclude that folder in the File System Shield, Expert Settings, Exclusions, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect*
That will stop the File System Shield scanning any file you put in that folder.
