Subscribers Receiving Warning Popups

Recently, we have been receiving emails from our customers who are subscribers of our newsletters. When trying to click the links within the newsletter, they are getting warnings from Avast that there could be malicious software. We’ve been sending weekly newsletters for years to our subscribers without any issues.

Is there any way to contact Avast to have our domains removed from the list of potentially dangerous sites? Our websites do not have malware or appear on any blacklists per Sucuri.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

There are other sites that can also check a site link.

Thanks DavidR! VirusTotal actually showed a “Malicious” warning for CRDF. We are looking into it now.

You’re welcome.
How many hits on VirusTotal and by what scanners. The easiest way to indicate this is post a link to the virus total results page.

I don’t know if the other link given (en.internet.nl) was able to narrow it down a little.

Just one. I’ve already submitted a false positive ticket with Seclookup. Our ESP is also looking into it on their end too, since the url in question is used primarily for tracking link clicks.

Whilst two detections on VT is a relatively low count (note Avast doesn’t do on-demand website scans on VT), so I would push it forward to avast for analysis as a possible False Positive, URL.

You won’t get a direct response to that submission, but it should be investigated within 48 hrs. If found to be an FP it will be removed from the virus definitions database.

I just filed a False Positive ticket. Thanks so much for your guidance! Hopefully, in a day or two this issue will be resolved.

Glad it was helpful for you.
