Subscriptions overlap

Before I start…I am technically challenged. I received an email with a deal on Avast Premium Security, so I downloaded it. However, I still have a subscription for APS until December 2025. Should I have ordered that new subscription? If so, do I activate it now? If not, do I request a refund? Seriously, all this stuff confuses me. Thank you.
