Support Forum user-interface issue

It’s nice that you provide a “Spell Check” button, but the window that appears is too small and not re-sizable.

I’m unable to see the buttons at the bottom of the window.

Please fix this.

Thank you.

We’re not the developers of the forum software.

The window that pops-up is scalable, see image1 of the mouse cursor to drag the window size, not to mention you have the scroll bar/s that you could use.

Personally I don’t use the forum spell checker, but an add-on for firefox (image2), most browsers have options to include a spell checker. The advantage of the firefox add-on is that highlight spelling errors in place (image1) allowing you to correct or select the correct spelling.

There is IE Spell as well that works with IE8 and IE9:

No, it is not. At least on for IE 8.0 it isn’t.

See my original post to understand dragging the corner to resize the window DOESN’T WORK. THE WINDOW IS NON-RESIZABLE. (sheesh! I’m not an idiot.)

Not helpful.

(sigh)

Yes, I know. Such software is not that difficult to find.

But that’s not the point, is it?

That’s not what my post was asking, was it?

I didn’t ask where I could find a spell-checker for Internet Explorer, did I?

I reported a user-interface issue with this board.

It’s YOUR support forum is it not?

If not you, then who SHOULD I report this issue to??

I can’t find this problem, sorry. On 3 browsers ( I.E., Fx, Opera ), the spell check window re-sizes fine for me.

Its hard to support Newbies that do not understand but need to learn new things.

I’m not a newbie sonny.

I’ve been working with computers probably since you’ve were in diapers:

I know computers.

I know software.

And I know smart alecks when I see them.

So don’t f**k with me.

Ie 8.0 on Win7 x64, if that makes any difference.

Only add-ons are shockwave and java.

Default security.

Win7 64 also, but cannot resize the spell check box on IE8

I see why you wouldwant to as well, it has a pointless scroll bar because of the buttons which could be solved by making it resizable.

The thing is though that it shows the resize corner thing, but it just doesn’t work…

Even though I don’t use IE8 as my default I have opened this topic and run the forum spell checker and it doesn’t resize for me either, but that surely is an issue with IE8 and not the forum software as it is IE8 that controls the window, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to resize the firefox window.

However, the scroll bar works as does the mouse centre scroll wheel, so surely you aren’t saying that they don’t work either. Also the zoom out also works to show everything within the window including the buttons.

No one said you are, I simply quoted my experience of being able to resize the window (so not a forum software issue) and at that point you hadn’t said what browser you were using.

Just giving you options, your choice to use it or not.

I guess from what igor said…you have to talk to SMF about the problem?

You are as old as me and you are a Newbie here!

You will be a Newbie untill you learn that there are avast! evangelists that know a hell of a lot more than you!
