Did reinstall my OS some days ago and scanned my PC today (Quick Scan). Was the notation at ‘Processed file’ that I have not seen before named SVC. So it is normal that is says
‘Processed file: SVC: SysMain> C:\Windows …’

Does avast say anything about the file…what?
suspicious files can be tested at www.virustotal.com / www.metascan-online.com / www.jotti.org
It doesn’t detect any infected or suspicious file. Everytime at the beginning of a scan it looks like this with various files. I don’t know much about computer but apparently it’s about some core files of the system don’t think that would be infected. I am just wondering what that SVC is … wasn’t there before or I just didn’t notice it perhaps.
SVC is short for a service I believe, which runs in the background and during scans these services, etc will be scanned. The file name in the image ends in sys (system device driver).

It’s part of Windows 8.
Oh okay thanks!
What is, Bob? The inclusion of services in a scan, or the existence of services?
I don’t disagree with you - services have been part of every version of Windows since Windows NT.

When I’m running a full system scan, that typically includes services on my Win 7 system too, and probably on earlier versions as well.
