Hello to all
First post so hope I am in the right place and apologies if this question has been asked before but I could not find it!
I use the excellent Avast Free on my home PC. Completed new registration yesterday for a further 12 months, updated programme to current version 6.0.1125 and definitions to 110523-1.
On the Avast ‘Summary’ page there is a large green coloured tick saying “Secured - your system is fully protected” however in the taskbar the orange Avast icon shows “Avast! Antivirus - Attention your system is not fully protected”
Reboot and see if it resolves it. Or does this happen on every boot ?
Does it eventually go away ?
Try a repair of avast:
XP - Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Vista, win7 - Control Panel, Programs & Features, uninstall a program, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.
Hi DBone and DavidR. Many thanks for your replies.
Just to answer your question DBone, no I do not have any of the shields turned off but still being monitored, but many thanks for your suggestion. To DavidR several reboots did not achieve anything, however, when following the repair advice given and rebooting the system now all is perfect. Many thanks to both of you.
