System shows Avast is not running ?

Hi
suddenly my system told me that Avast has shut down.
However trayicon is running and Avast tells me that my system is secure.
I tried an update and got an error telling me package is flawed.
Then i tried a repair and got an error telling me it was not able to debug??

I have pasted the log:

[*]In the Select Product to Uninstall dropdown choose the version of Avast that is on your system.
[*]Press Uninstall
[*]Once complete reboot your system to Normal Mode
[*]Reinstall Avast

Well, that did the trick.
Thumbs up for that.

But…
A word of advice for Avast staff, or whatever they are called.
I was a bit surpriced when I discovered that the new Avast installer comes with a selfinstalling Google-Drive.
If you as me, choose the easy installing of Avast, you do not get a check/uncheck box to avoid it.
Really pi… me off.
Pls, let me do the decision my self, to either have, or in my situation, absolutely NOT have Google Drive.

But ty for help essexboy

That is currently a bone of contention at the moment, as the free version needs to be funded somehow, a top tip is to do all installations in custom mode no matter what the programme

Money makes the world go around…I know

But at least then make the poor unsuspecting user know in advance, that if he choose the easy way then he also gets crapware.

There is no warning, and you cant abort the installation.

If you didn’t use the custom install (as you should with all programs) you can always uninstall Chrome after the fact.
For many of us, Chrome is our default browser of choice.
