Hello, I’m having issues with the browser discarding tabs today, it wasn’t like this yesterday and I tried checking the “secure-flags” option so I could just do it normal, except the “enable-tab-discarding” thing was nowhere to be seen, now I’m stuck with it.
Edit: I took a screencap to show that its not there, and for some reason, when I hover over the avast button, the other page is completly blank. This little oddity also began today, is it unrelated?

Tab process not loading is not new on separate [inactive] tabs not in focus. Has been like that for some time now. Once a tab is opened, the page loads.
One reason for that is to minimize browser resource use.
Sorry for the late answer, I had no idea how image attachments worked. Anyway, I don’t think I explained myself well enough. But the issue is that I want it to return to the way it was before, like you could uncheck the “tab-discarding” box and it wouldn’t be a bother, I’ve resorted to use the “secure://discards/” and toggling no for every “Auto-discardable” option so my tabs wouldn’t have this issue. I am looking for a more permanent solution to the issue.
I’m afraid that the automatic-tab-discarding flag has been removed from the latest version of Chromium (the open-source browser upon which Secure Browser is based). I’m afraid that this means that the only relevant flag now is the “Proactive Tab Freeze and Discard”, which I can see you have already disabled. If this is not preventing the tab discarding behavior, then I’m afraid that the only option is to continue to use the secure://discards/ page to manually prevent the automatic discards.
I have reported the change to our developers to see if there is anything that can be done to add it back to Secure Browser.
The “Proactive tab” flag was the first thing I tried, I thought it was the “auto-tab-discard” with a different name, but to no avail, which led me to coming here. Thanks for the answer, I’ll keep doing that for the time being.
As a fan of technology, loyal viewer of Techgara, I’m a fan of Avast productions but this is why I wouldn’t use Avast Secure Browser:
The standalone download is offered as a web installer;
Avast collects and sends usage statistics and crash reports;
Avast’s browser comes with several built-in browser extensions.

What is the problem of this? You use browser for browsing. Without internet, it is almost useless. Thanks to webinstaller, you always get the latest version with the right configuration according to your region, language etc.
Avast collects and sends usage statistics and crash reports
Same as many other SW companies have been doing nowadays. We cannot afford releasing a product to millions of our users without statistics and crash reports. That would be very high risk!
You can turn it off in settings if you do not like it
Avast’s browser comes with several built-in browser extensions.
All of them are security & privacy related and safe
I just got this Zermatt release, and I found out the hard way that is forcing my tabs to refresh (it overrides secure:discards), making my experience much worse. How do I disable it?
The Performance Manager can be disabled from the secure://settings/ page - please scroll to the bottom and click “Advanced”, then scroll to the bottom again and toggle off “Optimize RAM and CPU” and “Extend battery life”.
