Tablet infected by FBI Moneypak Virus

Hello,

Like the title says, my tablet has recently been infected by the FBI Moneypak Virus. Although Avast mobile recognizes it as malicious webpage (it’s locked my browser), virus scan cannot find it. I do not know what steps I must take in order to rid the virus, so any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Please attach your logs. (AdwCleaner, MBAM, OTL and aswMBR…!!)

While I’ve posted logs before on computers, I’ve never done so through a tablet. Is there a program that I should use for a tablet that would get you the logs? Or should I plug the infected tablet into my PC? (I do have autorun/autoplay turned off, if that would help prevent a spread).

Wait, are you on Android…!??

Yes

I see. Better ask here then: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=37.0

Ah, thank you. I did see that sub forum, and basically flipped a coin between that one and this one to post my problems.

As Asyn is not online atm, I’d wait until he gets back to you, as even I cannot know what he thinks, so…

You’re welcome. Good luck.

Hmm, I don’t seem to get any responses in the other thread. Do you think I will be able to find help in this forum? Or would I be better off searching in another place?

do you have anything on that tablet that you need? … if not, sett it back to factory specc
have never seen a infected tablet so not sure it would work…

have you tried android forum?

You got a reply in the other thread. (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?msg=977741)
Else be patient, it’s early morning in Europe.

What I did was clear all browser history and cache. That seemed to do the trick, but I’m not sure it’s a long term solution. For the time being, it will work at least until you get a permanent solution. Hoped this helped!

And this topic is like motnhs old.

just got locked out of my nexus 7 2013 tablet due to FBI Money Pak virus. I can’t even do a reset. Any suggestions?

Hi,

There is avast! Ransomware Removal that should target the malware and remove.

This should help you:
http://www.wintips.org/how-to-remove-unblock-your-phone-has-been-blocked-up-android-koler-virus/
http://malwaretips.com/blogs/android-police-virus-removal/

You always could attach the Nexus 7 on PC and locate the malware files by yourself and delete it. The goal is to neutralize the malware.
Then you can install Malwarebytes Mobile and avast! Mobile AntiVirus and preform the device scan.

and avast Android forum section is here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=37.0
