Task Bar crashing

Last days, my task bar is crashing and disappears…
It’s not Windows Explorer (that starts in a separate process than the kernel).
Of course, could be any program, etc…
Does anybody knows how to ‘log’ this or discover more about this?

There should be some info in Event viewer, and maybe check the minidump folder?

Don’t know if this has any info that you could use but this problem is discussed here:

Neither one nor another… :-\

Not sure then, maybe try searching google for a freeware logging program :-\

This is written there:
One thing I find with Windows is that if one part of the system, like the task bar, has crashed, in order to fix it you have to reset all your ‘explorer’ functions. Perhaps I’m just being stubborn, but I like the order of the icons in my taskbar…

Of course you can change this in the registry. First load up regedit (Start → Run → Regedit then press ok) and follow this path HKEY_CURRENT_USER → Software → Microsoft → Windows → CurrentVersion → Explorer.

From there create the DesktopProcess DWORD and give it the value 1 which makes explorer split into many individual services. If this causes your system problems, simply change the value to 0 to disable. From now on if you overclock too high, or a piece of software causes your system to become unstable, you no longer have to mess up your icons or reset explorer. Just reset the application which has actually locked up. =)

I have already this value there: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer, value DesktopProcess, data=1
This is not a solution. Anyway, thanks for trying…
Any other suggestion?

RejZor… Your software does not help me :‘(
Can you post the ‘default’ Windows Registry keys and the ‘tweaded’ ones?
Now the crashes are even more frequent :frowning: :-\ :’(

Can you post the 'default' Windows Registry keys

I can post my default reg keys for the taskbar if you want, but ill have to find them first.

Just remove the checkbox for Desktop anti-crash enhancement.
This will turn off the feature. Basically, turned off is the same as no key at all.
