Can i safely delete the temp files in C:\windows\temp_avast5?
I noticed that the unp*.tmp files are digitaly signed by abstradrom can somebody explain me why?
Usually you can delete the avast files in c:\windows\temp
But i don’t know about the signing question… seems strange to me.
abstradrom? good old chap, we got pissed a few times in the years, I hope he’s doing fine
Logostrom
edit: yeah you can trust his sig 8) cheers ;D
There shouldn’t be any files in that folder as after avast scans the files it sends there it clears it out. So something is blocking that or blocked it that time.
What other security software do you have installed ?
When were these files created ?
How many files are in there ?
To be able empty that folder, which I believe will be protected by the self-defence module, you may have to disable the avastUI, Settings, Troubleshooting, self-defence module.
There where about 8 files and they appear after scanning seperate folders on my hd.
i have deleted them. The names are unp234076724.tmp and other numbers.
Other security software is Mbam in demand defender and hitman pro on demand.
You deleted them? Good! You won’t miss them.
If any of those are resident, like defender, you need to exclude the avast5 folder to ensure there is no conflict whilst avast is scanning or it will leave the files in the folder as they can be hooked by the other scanner.
Thanks all! I’ve excluded the Avast temp files in Defender.
You’re welcome.
