Hi to all
First post here. I have been a PC tech for about 15 years. I recently upgraded
from free 6.01203 to 7.01426 from within the program interface of v. 1203. The
program update went fine, but I decided to clean it all out and do a clean install
mainly because it is usually more prudent to do so, although the upgrade went well for me.
The clean install appears so far to be better managed resource wise.
Been using Avast! free for at least 6 -7 years now. I just wanted to say thank you to all those that work
so hard at making this one of the best AV apps. I have been following the problems over the
last few months and finally decided to try the latest version. So far, latest version is working excellent,
of course I make my own adjustments and disable a few things, etc.
Having worked on systems over the years, I think many issues some face are due to an initial unstable
system to start with. Too many security apps tried over time, that conflict, etc. We all know it can be a mess
trying out various security softwareâs, etc., and MOST uninstall routines never remove all the remains. Personally, I use drive
imaging software and make an image before I try somethingâŚif I do not like it, I restore an image, this helps keep
the system clean to move on to the next program.
I just wanted to drop in and say âthank youâ for all you guys do. It is never an easy job to attempt to make âconflictâ free security
software, and as a tech, I think you are doing your best to maintain a very useful and compatible piece of software, and I for one
appreciate that. It takes time to get the âkinksâ out sometimes, so far, the team in my opinion has responded as well as they were able.
I hope I can help others here as best as possible, sharing my own experiences, and how to maintain a stable and clean system. Makes
a lot of difference in regards to system integrity if you maintain stability first. Great job folks, I am grateful for your efforts.
