The different shilds in avast! free no. 5

Hey avast!webforum

My question is: Is it safe to un-mark, or remove one or two of the shields in avast! no 5, If I don´t use the services anyway

Do not use messenger or something like that. Do not use Outlook Express or other mail programme, as I use G-mail, who have their own scanner, as far as I know

By the way: Is it possible to set avast! 5 to scann automatic every week or something like that?

yes you can uninstall the shield not used. ad-remove programs > avast > change > shields > .......
as I use G-mail, who have their own scanner, as far as I know
yes they have Postini spam filter with McAfee and Authentium virus scanners
By the way: Is it possible to set avast! 5 to scann automatic every week or something like that?
Yes scan > Create custom scan > Scheduling there is also a avast screen saver scan....

For scheduled scanning you could also select a pre-defined scan (like the quick/full scan) and go to settings. Then you can configure scheduled scans in the Scheduling tab.
