Hello,

If I have posted the following in the wrong forum, I am very sorry.

I was web surfing and looked down to the bottom right on my monitor screen and I noticed the following:

WINDOWS 7 BUILD 7601
THIS COPY OF WINDOWS IS NOT GENUINE

This is really strange. I’ve had this computer for over 5 plus years, bought it brand new. I checked for bugs, nothing is showing up. Any suggestions on how I can get rid of the above message, please? I made a search on Google, not much help there. What now, please??

Thanks for the link to that program. First of all I do not have a black screen, it just shows on my screen:

Other then that, my computer works with no issues. I rather not download any other programs, etc. I can live with that Incorrect statement informing me my Windows is Not Genuine. I know it is VERY GENUINE.

The following update has also been known to cause this problem - KB971033
Take a look at your installed updates if it’s there you might want to delete that one update.
