The new Avast URL Blacklist is far too aggressive

The new Avast URL Blacklist is far too aggressive and preventing access to webpages so they cannot be read even though they contain no active threats. It is reasonable to provide a warning if there is a possibility that there is content on the webpage that might lead to danger, but users should be able to click through after having been informed, if they wish to do so. This is how many other security suites work. Avast say adding a website or webpage to exceptions removes all protection, which is an unacceptable risk, as nobody can know what threats may appear on a website in the future. I have reported ‘false detection’ for one website but Avast have not taken it off the blacklist, so this is not a solution. Avast need to provide a button to allow continuation to a website after having provided a warning, whilst blocking the execution of any active threat, should there be one.

Hi @user8438 ,

Thank you for the detailed feedback. I’ll pass your suggestion about allowing users to proceed after a warning without adding the website to the exceptions list along to the relevant team for consideration.

As for the false positive you mentioned, your recent report has now been resolved and answered via email.
