I installed Avast and I have a problem.
I know that this file is not a virus, surely. When I flagged “no action” I can not run the file. I really want to run. I know that I can stop Avast, and so do with that file.
How do I set up the program to run the file and when the Avast.
I do not know that you understand my problem.
Simply, I want to run the “start.exe,” because it is a simulation of a virtual server on the Internet. For applications we need constantly to work.
I do not want to switch to of Avast, that could use the application.
I’d like to label the Avast application to the extension to play for.
What is the infected file name, where was it found e.g. (C:\windows\system32\infected-file-name.xxx) ?
Check the avast! Log Viewer (right click the avast ‘a’ icon), Warning section, this contains information on all avast detections. C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashLogV.exe
No Action means none of the actions listed in the alert window (it just leaves the file in place but won’t allow it to execute), you might think you know this isn’t a virus/trojan but as far as avast is concerned it is, so no matter how many times you click No Action it won’t allow you to run/execute the file.
You must make a conscious action to exclude the file, but before you do that you should confirm the detection one way or another.
You could also check the offending/suspect file at: VirusTotal - Multi engine on-line virus scanner and report the findings here the URL in the Address bar of the VT results page. You can’t do this with the file securely in the chest, you need to extract it to a temporary (not original) location first, see below.
Create a folder called Suspect in the C:\ drive, e.g. C:\Suspect. Now exclude that folder in the Standard Shield, Customize, Advanced, Add, type (or copy and paste) C:\Suspect* That will stop the standard shield scanning any file you put in that folder. You should now be able to export any file in the chest to this folder and upload it to VirusTotal without avast alerting.
Nice that you answer immediately.
The problem is my knowledge of English. As I understand, a lot of me is complicated, you need to send the program, and you check, then add to the database, and then for good.
Overly complicated, with the Serbian internet connection and speed! My knowledge of English and IT, poor!
It is easier to turn off Avast. I do what I need, and then include it. Is not it easier to put option that can not be launched if we know what we do?
I know that the application is secure. Made of the (Linux, Apache, MySQL, Mambo / Joomla software) and simulate work on the Internet. Use me for my Web site. On AVGu it is not shown as a virus. If you give me is to use the application.
Thank you in any case.
I do not have the nerves for all that jazz.
When you do not know what visits to the net, I use Linux live. And me not care for worms, trojans and other miracles.
I appreciate that this is difficult for you to understand in a language not your own and the instructions may seem complex.
When this is detected, there is an option to report is as a false positive in that alert, see image. Though that image shows English, the position of the link to report as a false positive should be in the same place.
You don’t have to do any of the other instructions (though that is normally recommended) and the file will be uploaded to avast during the next avast update, manual or auto.
This is as simple as I can make it but if you didn’t do any of these things then avast would continue to detect the suspect file unless you exclude the file from scans (at your own risk) and that is part of those same instructions I gave earlier.
